Privacy Policy

Last updated August 1, 2026

This page is maintained by the operator of Grade 6 Head Start to explain how family data is handled. It describes our own practices — it is not an independent audit or certification.

1. What we collect

  • Parent account: email address and a hashed password. We never see your password in plain text.
  • Learner profile: the display name you type in (a first name or nickname is enough) and grade level.
  • Schedule and progress: your pacing choices, lesson order, which lessons are complete, and question-level results.
  • Parent Zone PIN: stored only as a salted hash, plus a log of failed attempts so you can spot misuse.
  • Feedback: anything you submit through the “Something not right?” button, including the page you were on and, optionally, a reply-to email.
  • Technical: browser user-agent and basic error reports needed to keep the app working.

We ask for the minimum needed to run the program. Please do not enter a learner's full name, address, school, birthdate, or photo — none of it is required.

2. How we use it

To create and secure your account, deliver and personalize lessons, show progress in the Parent Zone, respond to your feedback, process payment for the plan, and fix bugs. We do not use learner data for advertising or profiling.

3. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade parent or learner data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to operate the Service: our hosting and application platform, our managed database and authentication provider, and — once billing is live — our payment provider, which handles card details directly so we never store them. Lessons may embed or link to third-party video platforms, which apply their own privacy policies when you visit them.

5. Children's data

Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children do not create accounts, provide an email address, or communicate with other users. A parent can view, correct, or delete their learner's data at any time from the Parent Zone or by emailing us.

6. Storage, security and location

Data is stored in a managed cloud database with row-level access rules so one family's records cannot be read by another. Access is protected by password authentication, and the Parent Zone is additionally gated by a PIN. Data may be processed on servers outside British Columbia, Canada.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove it, we delete your family's records within 30 days, except for records we must keep for tax or accounting purposes.

8. Your choices

You can request a copy of your data, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion by emailing nextgradereadyadmin@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies

We use only the storage needed to keep you signed in, remember your active learner and region setting, and keep the Parent Zone unlocked for a short session. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and notify account holders by email.
